Odd
things to photograph, perhaps it´s some kind of
art.
Location:
Overschiesestraat in Schiedam, The Netherlands.
Dimensions:
950 x 4,5 meters.
Materials:
Two layers of latex emulsion paint, applied with an airless
machine.
The city of Schiedam has been the poorest city in The
Netherlands for a long time and still is one of the poorest.
This route is supposed to become the new entrance to the
city centre. In anticipation to this fact, Schiedam now
has its Yellow Brick Road, which -according to the legend-
leads to glory and fortune.
From the new central station a yellow "red carpet"
is rolled out towards the city centre. The Overschiesestraat
blinks as if it's golden and its effect is quite surprising.
It throws a new pespective on the the situation: this
street will never be the same again... |
